Michael Golden's iconic Marvel promotional poster is considered by many to be the quintessential work of the early 80's defining the beginning of the Copper Age.
Michael Golden started working in the industry at a time when the industry as a whole was coming out of a depression and they were struggling to gain their footing as an industry. While many books were poorly put together, Michael Golden's work was a par-excellent example of comics. Because of this he struggled to find the appropriate appreciation for his talent from the publishers or the audience. Unfortunately we only have a few examples of his genius as a result, but that genius is there in stunning display, enough so that it influenced the whole industry through Jim Lee and the whole Image Comics revolution of the 90's. Michael Golden may not have ever made superstar status in the eyes of the public but the pros knew what he was and gave him his just recognition, as that of a genius talent that only comes once in a generation.
Great look at Golden's work. He is a great person to talk to also. Saw him at HeroesCon and spent much time yakkin' with him. Wish more were like him.

Loved Mr Golden's art! His work on the "Nam" was outstanding! Avengers annual #10 is one of my favorite Avenger comics ever due to his awesome renditions of both the Avengers & the BOEM & it was the 1st full app of Rogue if I'm not mistaken. Hello, I am 25 years old and I first found out I had herpes 3 years ago. My first outbreak was definitely the worst thing I ever experienced. The bumps and blisters were swollen and red.
